Workers’ Compensation is a no-fault system that’s been set up in Minnesota. And when I mean no-fault, I mean you don’t have to prove that your employer is at fault in any way. If you’re working and you’re in the course and scope of your employment and you get injured, you have a Workers’ Compensation claim. And it stems back from during the Industrial Revolution when people were getting hurt and the government turned around and said, “Hey, we can’t have everybody just suing everybody or we won’t have much industry here.” So they set up this no-fault system to take care of injured workers, and it’s manifested itself through the years into the system we have here today.
