Long-term symptoms of concussions, the ones we see among our clients are very common and it’s a little eerie, in fact, how common it is. You’ve got your memory loss, but that’s sort of a later stage development of CTE. The most common things we see are sleeplessness, which I understand is very common among people with brain trauma, issues with anger where there were no issues before. It’s a funny thing how we’ll ask a player do you have issues with anger and they’ll say no but the rest of their family will say yes and then that sort of becomes an issue. And a lot of players will say I don’t usually get in fights and here I am getting in fights and this is – something’s going on here.
So a lot of – the precursor to a lot of the memory loss issues are behavioral and mood issues, and so as the players sort of start to get to those later stages after their playing careers, they start to notice those initial symptoms first and then they progress to memory loss, and God forbid, in some situations they progress to even something worse.
