We handle and represent victims of child abuse and specifically, kids who’ve been abused by school teachers, administrators, after-school programs, various coaches, and fortunately, now what we’ve found is that there is an awareness, both on the family and on the kids and the bravery of the kids to come forward to talk about what’s happened to them. So we’ve handled a lot of cases against school districts all over southern California, all through up into northern California, and to help families, to help the kids that have been abused by these – these teachers.
One of the cases, and it’s not an unusual fact pattern, is a young girl at 13 being selected, and paid, and groomed by a teacher, who takes an inordinate interest in this child and then grooms the kid, pays attention to them, isolates them, rewards them for special things, makes the kid feel special, acts as if they’re confiding alone in the child, all with the sole purpose to sexually manipulate the person. And a lot of times this will happen both, in the classroom, it can happen then where the kid is taken by the teacher off of the campus and is molested there. What we find is that the teachers, even though they should do the right thing, many times will ignore statements made by other concerned teachers about a particular teacher, or things that they’ve seen themselves, coming into a classroom at lunch time where the door is locked, the windows are covered, and the teacher is alone with a student. And although, as I said, they might have the proper books about what the law or the training should be, how that’s imparted, and then the teacher, to step up and do the right thing, rather than protect the school, or protect whatever the institution is, to come forward and make a complaint about somebody else doing something wrong.

Los Angeles, CA personal injury attorney John Taylor talks about what happens in typical sexual abuse cases he sees that take place in schools. He explains that we specialize in representing victims of child abuse, particularly children who have suffered abuse at the hands of school teachers, administrators, after-school programs, and various coaches. Fortunately, we have observed a growing awareness among both families and children, as well as the courage of these children to come forward and speak out about their experiences. As a result, we have handled numerous cases against school districts throughout Southern and Northern California, aiming to support the affected families and seek justice for the children who have endured abuse at the hands of these individuals in positions of authority.
One common scenario we encounter involves a young girl, typically around the age of 13, who becomes the target of a teacher’s sinister intentions. The teacher invests inordinate attention, grooming, and even financial incentives to manipulate the child sexually. This manipulation often takes place within the classroom, but can extend to situations where the teacher takes the child off-campus and engages in further acts of molestation. It is disheartening to discover that despite the existence of proper guidelines and training for teachers, many of them choose to ignore warning signs raised by concerned colleagues. They may disregard statements from other teachers who have witnessed suspicious activities, such as finding a locked classroom with covered windows where the teacher is alone with a student during lunchtime. Instead of prioritizing the well-being of the children and taking appropriate action, these teachers often prioritize protecting the reputation of the school or institution, failing to report wrongdoing committed by their colleagues.
Our mission is to fight for justice on behalf of these abused children, holding accountable not only the individual perpetrators but also the educational institutions that failed to take necessary actions to prevent such abuse. We strive to provide a voice to these victims and their families, ensuring that those responsible for these heinous acts are held legally and morally responsible for their actions.
