sex crimes is the type of criminal
investigation or case in about a third
of our case load I have seen every type
of sexual offense whether it’s rape or
indecent touching or sexual abuse of a
child we get every type of case in here
and it’s very challenging
uh we particularly focus on selection of
a jury so that we can exclude people who
will not be favorably disposed to our
client um we work very hard on jury um
strategy and including whether the
defendant should testify there are some
cases where it might be essential there
are others where a client would have an
option of not to testify and still put
the government to its test of proof
Beyond a reasonable doubt we try to do
everything we can with a client charged
with a sex offense because it has so
many collateral
consequences and um frankly we’ve gotten
very good at it
