A number of factors are considered when we divide property. We’re not only worried about what type of property it is, but we want to figure out we have all the property. We also want to make sure we have an accurate valuation of that property. We also want to make sure that the type of property we’re looking at is of like kind, so that we’re dividing marital property and non-marital property, as well as pre-tax assets and post-tax assets, to make sure that there’s a balance in how the property is divided between the spouses.
