There is and it’s not a legal concept it’s an engineering concept. And I first learned it when I was lucky enough to be able to study under Harry Philo who was first an engineer and then became a lawyer and is actually one of the pioneers of product liability law. He did a lot during his lifetime to make products safer and save lives. But he instructed us from his engineering background that it is always unreasonable and always unacceptable to allow a serious injury or death when reasonable accident prevention methods would eliminate or minimize the chance of that serious injury or death.
