People ask if the patent itself, having a patent in their back pocket gives them the right to practice the technology and the answer is no. The rights that you have are those only of exclusion rights and so we need to look to the technology that gets wrapped up in your product that you want to sell and make sure that you’re clear or you have rights to use technology held by others or your predecessors. So in order to sell a product you need to make sure you’re clear of infringement or see a path to avoid infringement of others.
