In terms of dangerous drug cases we did some cases recently involving MRI contrast agents, which is a drug that’s injected into people before they have an MRI. And it was discovered that people who had problems with their kidneys who were given this drug were developing just a horrific disease called nephrogenic systemic fibrosis or NSF, which was a manmade disease. It was a disease that did not exist before a certain type of MRI contrast agent was introduced onto the market. So it was just a tragic situation where people were dying of a disease that was completely manmade. And we handled three of those cases on behalf of some people who had that disease. Unfortunately, two of them passed away but we were able to negotiate very favorable settlements in all of those cases.
Torrance, CA personal injury attorney Roger Booth talks about a drug that was introduced people took before an MRI that caused horrific diseases. He explains that we recently took on cases involving MRI contrast agents, which are drugs administered to individuals before undergoing an MRI scan. It was discovered that individuals with kidney problems who received this drug were developing a devastating condition known as nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF), which was entirely caused by the use of a specific type of MRI contrast agent. This disease had not existed before the introduction of this particular drug to the market. It was a truly tragic situation, as people were losing their lives due to a disease that was entirely manmade.
We represented three individuals who had been affected by this disease, and unfortunately, two of them passed away. However, we were able to negotiate highly favorable settlements in all three cases. These settlements provided some measure of justice for the victims and their families in light of the devastating consequences they faced due to the use of these dangerous drugs. It serves as a reminder of the importance of rigorous testing and regulation in the pharmaceutical industry to ensure the safety of patients.
