Guilt beyond a reasonable doubt essentially what that means is you’ve already had a trial and you’re waiting for a jury to come back with a verdict. The jury has to decide is there any doubt, is the doubt reasonable, in other words is there doubt for which you can assign a reason to. Maybe the person didn’t do it because the witnesses all misidentified a particular defendant that would be reasonable doubt. Or whether in fact the crime had even been committed in the first place could be an avenue a criminal defense lawyer would want to explore with respect to reasonable doubt. So its doubt that a juror can assign in other words, give a good reason for that’s essentially reasonable doubt.
