to a large degree our services to our
Hospitality clients uh dovetail a lot
with our our business law uh work we do
a lot with uh with corporate formation
uh with contract review with resolving
disputes with our Hospitality clients
and their clients uh since the Inception
of our firm we have worked with uh
management companies primarily
management of hotels uh throughout the
country and although there’s a lot of
similarities between Hospitality law and
business law there are some nuances of
hospitality law that we focus on one of
the areas we’ve focused on a great deal
in recent years is receivership law uh
our clients are frequently appointed as
receivers for distressed commercial
properties usually hotels and there’s a
lot of nuances in dealing with
receivership issues both in terms of the
local law of the jurisdiction and
complying with the receivership order
that was entered in the case
receivership issues are fraught because
usually when you’re dealing with a
receivership you’re dealing with a
relationship that is in a bad position
uh typically a hotel owners lender ask
the court uh to uh enter a receivership
order because there’s been a breakdown
in the relationship between the hotel
owner and the lender so we represent a
hotel management company that comes in
is appointed as receiver help them
comply with the terms of the
receivership order and help manage what
can be a very damaged relationship we
also do a lot of work with franchise
agreements uh frequently uh franchise
ores Hotel franchise ORS uh require
Hotel owners to appoint or or hire a
hotel management company which is our
client and frequently it’s because the
hotel owner is not in compliance with
their franchise agreement so we work
with our client the hotel management
company and making sure they’re in
compliance the hotel owner is in
compliance with the franchise agreement
frequently we’re assisting our
management companies in managing
Renovations sometimes the hotel
management companies effectively in the
position of a construction manager
they’re managing renovation uh
frequently distressed properties and
frequently to comply with the terms of a
franchise agreement and finally we do a
lot of premises liability work both
directly for our hotel management
companies and we represent insurance
companies that ensure hotel properties
and hotels are uh very frequently
getting uh premises liability claims
just basic trip and fall slip and fall
types claims and we do a lot of work
with that with our hotel management
companies and our insurance clients
