A homicide is just like any other case really, except the stakes are a lot higher. You’re at a higher limit table. But, the idea in a homicide is the same, actually more so than others in that you just have to be prepared and ready to fight the case. There’s nothing different except that the type of exposure that the client is looking at in some cases is life. Obviously, that is a far more serious situation than someone who’s looking at probation or a couple years. But, nonetheless, that often is something the people say, “Well, we must fight the case.” So, you have to be in a situation in a homicide where you’re ready to go, you’re ready to fight the case, and you’re prepared and ready to go and call it a ready to jury trial.
Philadelphia, PA criminal defense lawyer Brian J. Zeiger talks about his experience in handling homicide cases.
