You know, my firm does participate or take on motorcycle accident cases. Why is it near and dear to me? Because I too am licensed to ride a motorcycle and am a motorcyclist. So I have an appreciation and a love and respect for that as an art form. It’s freeing, liberating, and so when we’re out there on the road and we’re riding and doing what we love on our motorcycles, we just want to have a good time. Unfortunately, when we’re doing this because it’s so dangerous and because we have to be so careful and always pay attention to detail, unfortunately, we can’t catch everything. So, unfortunately, accidents occur, and your life is forever changed. Serious injuries come from motorcycle accidents. You want a lawyer that appreciates what it’s like to be a motorcyclist and what it takes to be a good motorcycle rider and that then represents you and your best interest when you’re injured.
The most memorable motorcycle accident case to me was that of a gentleman named Richard Green. Mr. Green was a former Navy SEAL and a professional sous chef. He was a great guy, had a good spirit, a good heart, and he loved riding a motorcycle like I do now. Unfortunately, one day he was riding a motorcycle in the inner city, which is the most dangerous place to normally ride a motorcycle, where there’s more traffic and more harm or hazard. He was riding his motorcycle, minding his business; unfortunately, he was cut off, which typically happens in motorcycle accidents where we’re riding and some motorist cuts us off. Those are the most dangerous, those are the most typical. This resulted in Mr. Green suffering major catastrophic injuries to his lower extremities—both legs and his hips. This resulted in Mr. Green being disabled not just for months but almost a year or a year and a half. This forever changed his life.
So what we were able to do, because we understand from the vantage point of the motorcyclist what he did or did not do, as well as what the law afforded him with regard to damages, we got a maximum recovery. So, from that point, yes, he was injured, but he was then able to be fully rehabilitated and ultimately cured, if you will, or made physically able to go on with his life. He had no worries financially and was properly compensated and made whole via us getting a maximum recovery for Mr. Green.
Southfield, MI personal injury attorney Johnny Hawkins talks about his approach to handling motorcycle accident cases. He also relates how being a motorcycle rider himself, aids in this area of work. The attorney’s firm actively engages in handling motorcycle accident cases, a matter particularly close to the attorney’s heart, given his personal affinity as a licensed motorcycle rider. The attorney emphasizes his appreciation, love, and respect for motorcycling as an art form, highlighting its freeing and liberating nature. While expressing the joy of riding, the attorney acknowledges the inherent dangers, requiring riders to be cautious and attentive to detail, given the impossibility of foreseeing every potential hazard. Unfortunately, accidents can occur, resulting in life-altering consequences and serious injuries.
Drawing from personal experience, the attorney underscores the importance of legal representation that understands the nuances of being a motorcyclist and the skills required for safe riding. Reflecting on a poignant case involving Richard Green, a former Navy SEAL and professional sous chef, the attorney vividly recalls the life-changing impact of a motorcycle accident. Mr. Green, a fellow motorcycle enthusiast, suffered catastrophic injuries to his lower extremities after being cut off while riding in a highly dangerous urban setting.
Through a thorough understanding of the motorcyclist’s perspective and the legal avenues available for damages, the attorney and his team secured a maximum recovery for Mr. Green. This not only facilitated his rehabilitation but also ensured that he was financially secure and fully compensated for the hardships endured. The case exemplifies the attorney’s commitment to representing the best interests of injured motorcyclists and achieving comprehensive recoveries for their physical and financial well-being.
