basically three three different things
one is a practical thing and that is
there there is a bias against
motorcyclists that we have to deal with
at trial and understand when we’re uh
doing jury selection two is
most of the motorcycle accidents that
aren’t
um associated with careless driving on
the driver’s part it’s a visibility
issue they’re not recognized by the
drivers that’s why you see these signs
around so motorcycles are everywhere and
the third thing is that there are no
small motorcycle accidents when it
happens it’s awful and so you know
compared to a car accident you can you
know you might have a good hit without a
big injury that doesn’t happen on
motorcycles

Braintree, MA personal injury attorney Michael Conley discusses how motorcycle accident cases are different from other motor vehicle accident cases. He explains that essentially, there are three key factors at play. Firstly, there exists a bias against motorcyclists that we must navigate during trial and consider during jury selection. Secondly, in the majority of motorcycle accidents not caused by careless driving, the issue often lies with visibility. Motorcycles are often not recognized by other drivers, which is why you see signs reminding drivers to watch out for motorcycles. Thirdly, when a motorcycle accident occurs, even minor ones have the potential to be catastrophic. Unlike car accidents where a significant impact may not result in severe injuries, motorcycle accidents tend to have more severe consequences.
