I’ve been a real estate lawyer for 50
years now and all during all that time
the business law did trust and Estates
and probate and all of these entities
could it some time or other
own the site or sites where an accident
happened and a lot of times you have to
discern who’s the real responsible party
maybe there are several responsible
parties and how can the vigilance of a
company on keeping their records
straight would maybe limit their
liability and not being able to get
let’s say of a person that’s basically
using a corporation as a shell and
depleting all the money so there’s
nothing in this company but all in their
pocket but if they’re keeping sloppy
records they’re
weaves themselves opens to being have
pierced that’s called pierce the co-op
piercing the corporate veil and
sometimes there are serious injury cases
where
firms are sloppy we had one in New
Hampshire which was just the case with a
Massachusetts injury and I think
pointing out how badly their records are
uh we got some of the owners that
actually throw in some money to protect
them from being
uh sued for years in litigation which is
not really that great a thing for a
client either it’s better to maybe take
a little less not not a lot less but you
know get your money today rather than
get it three four years maybe even six
years of after litigation so that’s how
I can help
the personal injury side of the firm
get down to some of the brass tacks
