I believe, principally, that if you are blessed in any way, you should find a way to give back.

I participate in charitable endeavors around the community. I sit on the board of the Minneapolis Rotary Club Number 9, which is, if you know anything about Rotary, it’s a world-wide organization, but this club in Minneapolis was the ninth club. So it has a special place in helping eradicate polio all around the world.

So we do a lot of humanitarian work around the world, and locally here in Minneapolis. That has been super rewarding for me.

As far as helping other lawyers, I work with the Minnesota State Bar Association in the probate and trust law section council, which is the council that directs anything and everything that happens in probate and trust law in Minnesota.

We recently worked hard to pass a Minnesota trust code, which is a new law now which has been adopted by the state legislature. That law makes our trust code a little bit more similar to what you find in other jurisdictions.
