The firm was founded by Mary Wechsler in 1988 with some other attorneys and the vision was always focused on family law. But in addition to that, it was also focused on elevating the practice of family law so that the public is better served. To that end, virtually all of the attorneys in this firm, from then to now, have participated heavily in all of the various committees and education that it takes to bring up the practice.

One of the things that I’ve done, and I’ve done this for almost 20 years, is to run a statewide Listserv for family law attorneys. It’s a place where all the attorneys who practice family law can get together, ask each other questions, share advice and that’s been a remarkable development. That’s all new that we have something online that we can really talk to each other and communicate about. So those are the kind of activities that we engage in and that’s always been the mission of the firm, is to be involved in that kind of activity.

The better practice by all the attorneys means a better result for the clients and that’s really what the goal is in the end. There’s no hide the ball, there’s no point to hide the ball as far as what you do or what your expertise is. The more people know about family law the better and that’s always been what’s guided the firm.
