you know my family has a history of law
00:08
my father
00:09
is a very recognized litigation attorney
00:12
in this town
00:13
my stepmother is a currently serving on
00:16
nevada’s supreme court uh formerly as
00:18
the chief justice
00:20
i’ve been an attorney over 30 years i
00:22
have two sons that have followed me in
00:25
the law and they work with me in this
00:27
firm taylor and zachary and so the
00:29
morris family in nevada has been
00:32
involved in the practice of law
00:34
for well over 60 years and we’re one of
00:37
the few
00:38
i guess families
00:39
in the entire state of nevada where
00:41
there are three generations of
00:43
practicing attorneys and so i guess
00:45
initially it started off i knew my
00:47
father was an attorney and i always
00:49
admired the work that he did and i kind
00:51
of followed him in to that profession
00:58
yes i’ve been involved uh in the
01:00
community in several different
01:01
non-profit organizations over the years
01:04
i’ve been involved kind of indirectly
01:06
with the bar in doing training and
01:08
education at continuing legal education
01:10
seminars i’m the past president of the
01:13
southern nevada estate planning council
01:15
it’s an organization devoted to you know
01:17
educating attorneys on current
01:20
developments and changes in the law
01:22
especially as they relate to estate
01:24
planning
01:25
but currently i’ve kind of
01:27
focused my my community service on the
01:30
university of nevada las vegas
01:33
i feel like the university provides a
01:35
wonderful opportunity for the youth of
01:37
our community to be educated and trained
01:40
and so i’m currently i in the past i’ve
01:42
served on advisory panels and on
01:44
advisory boards but i’m currently
01:46
serving
01:47
as the chairman of the uh board for the
01:50
college of liberal arts and i just enjoy
01:53
working with the people at unlv and and
01:55
seeing and sharing their enthusiasm for
01:58
the young people of our community
