So I’ve been practicing law since 2003, and only criminal defense since then, and I’ve had my own, private law firm in criminal defense since about 2007. I do indigent defense work, as well as private defense work, and I’m equally split between federal criminal defense and state criminal defense. I have a reputation within the defense community for being a specialist in two really key areas, and they’re quite different. One is the very sensitive sex crimes – rape, child molestation, child pornography – and as a female lawyer, I get a lot of those cases, because people want a female attorney for those kinds of crimes. Then on the other hand, I also have a reputation for a lot of federal work, which that can run the gambit it terms of what crimes can be federal, but as of now, it’s a lot of murder and gang-related crimes, a lot of RICO, both white-collar and gang-related, so that’s sort of my general background and experience.
