I took a non-traditional path. I went from high school to college, I went to college for about a year and a half, two years. I took some time off and did a variety of odd and end jobs everything from waiting tables to construction work. And then I eventually went back to college and then on to law school.
It gave me a perspective I think that most people don’t have in that I’ve done a lot of the different types of work that my clients have gone through. I think that gives me a level that I can identify people on a personal level with them. And I think it gives me a greater perspective and appreciation for the type of work that people do outside of practicing law.
