Recently we’ve seen a lot of disputes over businesses’ intellectual property and their confidential information. It may happen in the context of an employee, a key employee leaving a company in which the business thinks that key employee is perhaps using some of their confidential information or intellectual property with a competitor. If there isn’t a non-compete agreement or a business confidentiality agreement, businesses lots of times need to get legal advice as to how much protection the law provides for either their intellectual property or confidential information.
