I do both. Most of my practice is by referral from trial attorneys. They either do not choose not to represent the client on appeal or they feel that they need the special expertise that an appellate lawyer can give the client for the appeal. Sometimes the client, for whatever reason, wishes to switch lawyers, and then I’m working more directly with the client.
