In Minnesota if you don’t have a will the law has some language is that essentially creates a will for you. So in many cases, for example, for a husband and wife. If one of them passes, the will will split the assets between the surviving spouse and the children, and that’s not commonly how most people want it. So although Minnesota provides some language for disposition of assets upon somebody’s death, the majority of clients, or the majority of people, don’t really want their assets to go in the manner that Minnesota would set forth in its law.
