so DUIs unfortunately tend to be sort of

political crimes and what I mean by that

is that prosecutors feel a lot of

pressure to prosecute these um really

aggressively and so they’re less likely

uh because of the public safety issues

and because they’re under you know

scrutiny from the public to want to

resolve these cases the other issue that

we see with DUIs is that although people

are often aware that in Virginia the

legal limit for your blood alcohol is a

08 what people don’t realize is that you

can be convicted of a DUI at a 007 at a

06 at a 04 and so these are not totally

objective crimes there is some

subjectivity and so what we what we do

is we come in and we make sure that we

are preparing a full defense on the flip

side these are very technical crimes and

so we spend a lot of time looking

through data through DFS records of the

breath machine through body cam video

footage the data from field sobriety

tests all of this data in order to be

able to compile a full defense and make

sure that we’re covering all of the

bases because these are things that have

a high burden for the prosecution in

order for them to be able to prove these

there are a lot of elements and so we

really take a lot of time in making sure

that we’re looking at all those and and

presenting the case in the best way

possible
