That’s actually getting much easier these days. More and more squad cars, more and more police officers are equipped with video recording equipment, which gives us an opportunity to really watch the entire thing play out from start to finish. Typically, the way the squad car cameras work is that they’re constantly recording. And when an officer activates his lights, the software actually goes back and collects the last 60 or maybe 30 seconds before the lights were turned on. So whatever the illegal driving behavior was that the officer claims to have observed will actually be captured on that video, even if the officer didn’t light you up until after the observations were made.
