My best experience in terms of employment and education was working as a public defender in Brooklyn, New York. There is where I actually learned how to try a case, how to prepare a case, talk to witnesses, and then try a case. I was trying cases probably six months after I graduated from law school. Most attorneys can never make that claim it was a great and exciting experience. And I took that experience and I took that aggressiveness and I brought it to Minnesota and I use it every day in my practice here in the Twin Cities.
