However, the average personal injury lawsuit, if it’s taken through a jury trial, will cost a handful of thousands of dollars. The way that’s allotted is between the filing costs that go on and the various court proceedings, be they depositions, mediations, pretrial meetings, going through the discovery process, but then also securing the testimony of medical experts and having those experts submit reports, which can be a very expensive process. And, frankly, that’s why most cases do not reach the trial stage beyond the time constraints as well is that it simply becomes very expensive for both the defendant, be it an insurance company or an individual, or the plaintiff to take that case through the trial.
