Hopefully I’m involved on the front end because I found after more than fifteen years of practice that if contractors have me involved on the front end to review a contract, we can minimize disputes later after the contract is signed and after the contract is being performed, but that’s not always the case. In terms of construction contract, negotiation, I’ve done it on private construction projects, obviously. There’s really not an opportunity to negotiate public construction projects. There’s a lot of bidding rules associated with that. for some clients they prefer just to have a standard form contract such as a Master Services Agreement or a standard form subcontract. And a lot of thought can go into preparing those documents so they can reduce the transaction costs and not have repeat instances of having to have a lawyer review their form contracts. And that’s a good thing.
