“Depends on the client, but generally speaking from the outset, we try to organize our case based on what the client’s looking for. Every client’s different. Some clients want to litigate the case and try it to conclusion, take it all the way to the jury. Some clients would like to settle early on, and if that means they’d rather pay the plaintiff, even if they don’t believe they owe them anything, some clients are willing to pay them a few thousand dollars to go away.”

Palm Harbor, FL business litigation attorney Drew K. Patterson discusses his approach to business litigation. He explains that the approach varies depending on the client, but generally, we aim to tailor our strategy based on the client’s objectives. Each client has unique preferences and requirements. Some clients prefer to pursue litigation and see the case through to its conclusion, including presenting it before a jury. On the other hand, some clients prefer to resolve the matter early and opt for a settlement. In such cases, they might choose to pay the plaintiff, even if they don’t believe they have any liability, simply to expedite the resolution. In certain instances, clients may offer a settlement amount of a few thousand dollars to encourage the plaintiff to drop the case.
