Absolutely. As a matter of fact, Mayo Clinic says that nearly 90 percent of the concussion injuries occur absolutely without loss of consciousness. And then in another sense what is a loss of consciousness? A lot of people think of a total coma where you’re out. Lights out as being a loss of consciousness. The medical literature says that disorientation, difficulty of understanding or speech mild as it may be is a typical symptom of a concussion injury. And the medical literature defines it that way. A concussion is defined to include disorientation or confusion of any kind whether it’s your eyes, your hearing, your mental function.
