Yes, certainly – particularly in the more procedural items that I mentioned – for example, not reporting timely. Most state boards have a process for paying a fine and being reinstated – of course, coupled with the compliance with the omitted fact, either a licensing fee being paid or reporting CP, continuing education, or also for getting a peer review done.
In terms of professional malfeasance kinds of issues – audit lapses or the like – CPA licensing boards are increasingly running CPAs into probation, which of course means that once you fulfill a probation, you’re reinstated. Or if you have been totally – totally lost your license, after a certain period of time you’ll have a right to ask for reinstatement. But, of course, that’s not an easy process, not cheap, and there’s no guarantee that it’ll be efficacious.
