Asbestosis is a disease that individuals get when they have inhaled or ingested asbestos over the course of their lifetime. And you will hear, ’cause we all see a lot of advertising and literature about asbestosis or mesothelioma, and there’s a difference between the two. Asbestosis is not cancer. It’s a lung disease where after ingesting the fibers, they make it to the lungs, but they make it to the alveoli of the lungs, and it causes breathing problems. We’re gonna talk more about mesothelioma later, but that’s a cancer that ends up in the lining of the lungs. So asbestosis is a disease that does come from ingestion of asbestosis. And it is a very problematic disease.
