Adoptions are our favorite type of family law case at the Draper Law Firm. We’ve handled a variety of types of adoptions. They can be stepparent adoptions where there’s a stepparent very involved in a child’s life and the one biological parent is not involved at all and voluntarily relinquishes or that parent has taken certain action to justify termination. We also do adoptions of either family members or where parties have connected in some way or another and agreed upon new parents adopting a child. There are also adoptions that come as a result of CPS litigation where it’s either foster parents or family members or next of kin who have had the child placed with them who choose to adopt after the parent’s rights are terminated.
