Gabriel, a third-generation Arizonan, hails from a family deeply rooted in southern Arizona for nearly a century. Growing up in Nogales, Arizona, he pursued his education at Arizona State University, where he obtained both his undergraduate and Juris Doctorate degrees. His thirst for knowledge led him to study International Commercial Trade Law at EGADE, Tec De Monterrey in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, and to pursue a minor in Spanish at Estudio Internacional Sampere (EIS) in Madrid, Spain.
Throughout his 20-year career, Gabriel has specialized in elder abuse and neglect litigation. He initially practiced at a firm focused on defending institutional healthcare providers, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes. However, for the past 14 years, he has exclusively represented victims and their families in cases involving abuse and neglect.
As a founding member of Miller Kory Rowe, Gabriel remains dedicated to the firm’s elder abuse and neglect litigation group. These complex cases demand a deep understanding of both medical negligence and corporate business torts. Over the years, the MKR litigation team has successfully prosecuted numerous cases on behalf of their clients.
In addition to his legal practice, Gabriel serves as an Assistant Professor of Practice at The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. He imparts his knowledge and expertise on elder abuse and neglect to medical students at the university. The firm also hosts medical students twice a year to study real-life cases and learn about the signs and symptoms of elder abuse and neglect. Gabriel actively participates in Arizona’s Geriatric Society (AMDA) and serves as a board member of the Military Assistance Mission, an organization dedicated to providing support to active-duty military personnel, their families, and Post-9/11 Purple Heart recipients.
While Gabriel handles a range of cases, including nursing home abuse and neglect, wrongful death, and medical malpractice, he is also known for his love of the outdoors. His dog serves as the MKR mascot and accompanies him to the office every day. Outside of work, Gabriel finds solace in the mountains, indulging in activities such as backcountry skiing, running, backpacking, camping, and hiking. Before embarking on his legal career, he was a swimming instructor and a certified scuba dive master.
