Steven Messner joined the firm in 2008 after completing his legal education. He graduated first in his class from the University of La Verne College of Law, where he also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. Prior to that, he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Messner has established himself as a skilled trial attorney, handling cases related to insurance bad faith and property damage. He has successfully served as lead counsel in various trials, representing clients in complex litigation. Notably, he recently achieved a significant settlement of $4.75 million on behalf of the City of Upland against the Insurance Company of the State of Pennsylvania. The lawsuit involved allegations of insurance bad faith and breach of contract due to the insurance company’s failure to defend the City in the Colonies litigation. Throughout his tenure at the firm, he has also worked on a range of cases involving policyholders and injury victims. Some notable cases include MGA Entertainment, Inc. v. Hartford, et al., Van Zee v. Homesite, Elkins v. Murchison, Linkin Park v. Lloyds, Tomjanovich v. State Farm, and Ramos-Lovato v. Community Bank.
Mr. Messner’s educational background includes his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of La Verne College of Law, which he obtained in 2008. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and served as the Valedictorian of his class. Additionally, he held the position of Editor-In-Chief at the University of La Verne Law Review. Prior to his legal education, he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of California, Berkeley in 2001.
