With a legal career spanning over two decades, Roger Booth has built a reputation for handling intricate and high-profile cases, representing a diverse range of clients, including individuals and corporations, plaintiffs and defendants, across California and the United States. Since 1997, he has dedicated his practice to advocating for those who have suffered catastrophic injuries or the loss of a loved one.
Roger’s academic journey began with honors at Pomona College in 1987. During his senior year, he had the privilege of studying at Oxford University in England for a semester. Continuing his pursuit of legal knowledge, he attended Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California – Berkeley, where he earned his law degree in 1991. After graduating, Roger commenced his legal career at Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro, a prestigious law firm in San Francisco. At Pillsbury, he worked on complex business litigation and insurance bad faith cases, honing his skills as a litigator. During this time, he also took a leave of absence to gain valuable trial experience as a criminal defense attorney at the San Francisco Public Defender’s office.
In 1997, Roger joined forces with his father, Larry Booth, at Booth & Koskoff, and his focus shifted to personal injury law. His exceptional abilities as a plaintiff’s attorney were quickly recognized when, in his second personal injury trial in 1998, he and Richard Koskoff secured a groundbreaking $1.6 million verdict in Orange County, setting a record for hand injury cases in that jurisdiction. This achievement garnered substantial attention in the legal community. Since then, Roger has successfully handled over 20 cases resulting in verdicts or settlements exceeding $1,000,000.
Notably, in 2012, Roger achieved a remarkable $4 million jury verdict against the County of San Diego in a wrongful death case, despite the County’s initial settlement offer of only $100,000. Throughout his career, he has consistently been recognized for his exceptional legal skills and has been named a “Super Lawyer” every year since 2009, a distinction bestowed upon the top 5% of attorneys in Southern California.
As an active member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), Roger frequently contributes articles and delivers speeches at CAALA events, sharing insights and expertise on personal injury practice and trial strategies. In July 2006, he was honored as CAALA’s “member of the month.” Additionally, he has authored numerous articles for various legal publications.
Outside of his legal pursuits, Roger resides in the South Bay area of Los Angeles with his wife and four children. He finds fulfillment in coaching youth sports, participating in triathlons, and nurturing his garden during his leisure time.
