J. Michael Conley, a co-founder of Kenney & Conley, P.C., has dedicated his professional career to advocating for the rights of Massachusetts injury victims and their families. He is recognized as a fellow of the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers and holds an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which signifies the highest level of legal ability and integrity.
Born and educated in Cambridge and Newton, Massachusetts, Michael Conley obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He excelled both academically and athletically as a baseball player during his four years there. Later, he graduated cum laude from Suffolk University Law School, where he actively participated in the Law Review as a writer and Literary Editor.
In 1982, Michael joined the law firm of Murphy, Lamere & Murphy in Braintree, Massachusetts, focusing on municipal labor law, employment law, and civil litigation. Three years later, he co-founded Kenney, Conley, Sullivan & Smith, P.C. with the aim of pursuing civil litigation and trial work on behalf of individuals rather than corporations and government entities.
Within Kenney & Conley, P.C., Michael Conley specializes in representing victims of negligence and misconduct. He is highly involved in legal education, frequently writing and lecturing for esteemed organizations such as the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc. (where he serves on the Civil Litigation Curriculum Advisory Committee), and the Massachusetts Bar Association. Michael generously volunteers his time to teach and update fellow lawyers on various topics related to personal injury cases, including automobile liability insurance, uninsured and underinsured motorists’ coverage, premises liability, injuries to police and firefighters, trial practice, and settlement procedures.
In addition to his educational efforts, Michael has served as an arbitrator in personal injury and insurance coverage cases. He actively participates in trial practice and moot court competitions as a volunteer judge for student participants, contributing his expertise to help develop their advocacy skills.
